Exclusive Interview by STRIVE TIMES US

Meet Sylina Renae: A Woman Turning Pain Into Purpose

In a world where many people give up after facing heartbreak, trauma, and loss, Sylina Renae stands as a symbol of resilience, faith, creativity, and determination. From music and modeling to entrepreneurship and mental health advocacy, Sylina’s journey is deeply personal, emotional, and inspiring.

Currently living in Land O’ Lakes on the outskirts of Tampa, Florida, Sylina describes herself as “a Cali girl and west coast baby with an east coast hustle.” Though born in Phoenix, Arizona, she was raised in San Diego, California, where her love for music, performance, and artistry first began.

In this exclusive interview with STRIVE TIMES US, Sylina Renae opens up about her difficult life experiences, her faith in God, the tragic loss of her daughter, surviving abuse, motherhood, entrepreneurship, music, and her future goals.

Who Is Sylina Renae?

“My name is Sylina Renae,” she says proudly.

Sylina currently lives in Land O’ Lakes, Florida, a peaceful area near Tampa filled with malls, shops, and entertainment. However, her roots are deeply connected to the West Coast. Raised in San Diego, California since infancy, she still considers it her hometown and hopes to return there one day.

“I’m a west coast baby and east coast lady,” Sylina shares. “I’m doing my thug thizzle globally for now.”

Her personality reflects confidence, humor, authenticity, and ambition — qualities that continue to shape her growing career.

A Childhood Shaped by Music and Faith

Sylina explains that her journey did not begin recently. In many ways, she believes her purpose was embedded in her from birth.

Raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, Sylina experienced a stricter upbringing compared to many children around her. She and her siblings were not allowed to spend much time with “worldly” children outside school, and holidays stopped being celebrated after she turned nine years old.

Although isolated at times, she found comfort in music.

She spent countless hours in her room listening to legendary artists like:

  • Mariah Carey
  • Whitney Houston
  • Toni Braxton
  • SWV
  • Tony! Toni! Toné!
  • Babyface
  • Oleta Adams
  • Queen Latifah

Mariah Carey became one of her greatest musical influences, and Sylina’s admiration was so strong that she eventually named her daughter Mariah.

Back in the cassette tape era, Sylina would repeatedly rewind songs on her karaoke machine until she perfected them. Her passion for performing developed early through talent shows, dancing, and singing. She even performed at the Del Mar Fair as part of a dance group when she was only six years old.

One of her memorable performances included singing I Wanna Be Down by Brandy during a school talent show.

By age sixteen, Sylina enrolled in the John Casablancas Modeling and Career Centers acting and modeling school, officially beginning her journey into entertainment.

The Inspiration Behind Her Journey

When asked who inspired her artistic path, Sylina credits both her natural creativity and her family connection to music.

Discovering that her aunt was legendary singer Oleta Adams deeply impacted her as a child. One song especially stayed close to her heart:

Get Here

Music became her escape from reality, while art became another form of expression. Sylina reveals that she was also talented in drawing and often created realistic portraits of family members from photographs.

“I’ve always been an artist at heart,” she explains. “Being a hustler and go-getter has always been inside me.”

Surviving Trauma, Abuse, and the Loss of Her Daughter

One of the most emotional parts of Sylina’s story is the tragic loss of her daughter, who was killed after being struck by a car on a Florida freeway at just 20 years old.

Sylina describes the pain as something that permanently changes a person from within.

“The loss of a child is the hardest thing ever,” she says. “It does something to your soul that nobody can understand unless they’ve been through it.”

Following her daughter’s passing, Sylina faced multiple devastating life challenges:

  • Separation from her husband after a long-term marriage
  • Emotional and physical abuse
  • A DUI arrest
  • Jail time
  • Loss of her job, home, and car
  • Custody-related struggles
  • Another abusive relationship that left her hospitalized with broken ribs and punctured lungs

Despite everything, Sylina survived. She says her faith in Jehovah God and the love for her children — “Dem Landis Babies” — kept her alive during the darkest moments of her life.

“Anyone else in my position might not have survived,” she admits. “But I kept going.”

Today, she uses those painful experiences as fuel for personal growth, healing, and empowerment.

Faith, Healing, and Personal Growth

Sylina openly speaks about how her relationship with God became her source of strength throughout every tragedy she endured.

“God wanted me to go through the hell,” she says. “It made me the woman I am today.”

Through hardship, she learned important lessons about protecting her peace, choosing the right people, and no longer being naïve about human nature.

Though still loving and compassionate, Sylina says life has toughened her up and taught her how to survive.

She now dedicates herself to ending generational trauma and building a safer future for her children.

Sylina Renae’s Career Goals and Business Ventures

Sylina is not only an artist but also a visionary entrepreneur with multiple long-term goals already in motion.

She believes strongly in planning for the future and criticizes the idea of “going with the flow” without direction.

“Everything I’m doing is intentional,” she explains. “This didn’t happen overnight.”

Heartbreak Boutique LLC Relaunch

One of her biggest upcoming projects is the relaunch of her online store, Heartbreak Boutique LLC, scheduled for May 2026.

The business was originally paused following her daughter’s passing, but Sylina is now preparing to bring it back stronger than ever.

Royal Travel LLC

Sylina recently launched another company called Royal Travel LLC, entering the travel industry as a travel agent.

“Why not get paid while being outside?” she says confidently.

Her passion for travel, luxury experiences, and entrepreneurship all align within this new venture.

Music Remains Her Greatest Passion

Even with multiple businesses and academic pursuits, Sylina says music continues to be the center of her soul.

“Music is my life,” she explains. “It was my escape as a child.”

She is currently working on a brand-new album that will introduce a completely different energy and vibe compared to her previous work.

Modeling, Motherhood, and Becoming a “Momager”

Sylina is also focused on helping her children build successful futures.

She proudly describes herself as a “momager,” actively creating opportunities and long-term foundations for her family.

Her work in modeling, music, business, and branding is all connected to a larger vision of generational success and stability.

Education and Becoming a Therapist and Attorney

In addition to entertainment and entrepreneurship, Sylina is pursuing higher education with major ambitions.

She is currently working toward her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and plans to open her own practice while expanding into podcasts, interviews, and television.

Sylina also plans to pursue a Juris Doctor degree to fight against the injustices she personally experienced within the legal system.

  • New music

  • Modeling projects
  • Business launches
  • Happiness, healing, and purpose-driven living

She describes this chapter of her life as one focused on peace, confidence, growth, and embracing her femininity while continuing to hustle.

Even years later, the grief remains deeply painful. Yet she continues moving forward with courage and faith.
